Privacy Policy

01.Overview

In short: kaansali.dev is a static personal portfolio site. There is no backend server, no account system, no forms — just file delivery on Cloudflare Pages. Page views are counted anonymously via Cloudflare Web Analytics — no cookies, no per-user tracking identifier.

This policy covers the kaansali.dev website. Mobile apps have their own separate privacy policies (e.g. Symmetrizer).

The policy is grounded in the legal frameworks of Turkey's KVKK (Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

02.Information We Collect

The site does not collect any personal data directly from you — there is no signup form, no contact form, no subscription form. Only the following technical data is processed indirectly:

Cloudflare request logs (infrastructure): IP address, browser type (User-Agent), referer, requested page, response code, timestamp. These logs are kept by Cloudflare Pages' own infrastructure (for DDoS protection and performance); we do not have direct access to them.
Cloudflare Web Analytics (anonymous): page view counts, country-level location, most-visited pages, average performance metrics. No cookies are used, no per-user tracking identifier is created, no personal data is collected.

Your browser stores a single localStorage key called kaansali.tweaks (theme + font preferences). This data lives only on your device and is never sent to our server.

03.How We Use Data

We use the aggregate data visible to us via Cloudflare Web Analytics for the following:

Understanding which pages are viewed and how often.
Seeing which countries visitors come from.
Improving the site's performance.

We never sell personal data and never share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

04.Cookies

The site does not use cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless — it stores no identifier in your browser to count page views. The only thing stored on your side is a single localStorage key (kaansali.tweaks) holding your theme and font preferences — this is not a cookie and never leaves your device.

05.Third Parties

The site uses only the following providers as part of its infrastructure:

Cloudflare Pages — site hosting, CDN, DDoS protection, Web Analytics. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Google Fonts — web fonts referenced by the site (Newsreader, Inter, JetBrains Mono). Your browser fetches these fonts from Google's servers, so your IP may be visible to Google in that request. See Google's privacy policy for details.

Mobile apps I publish (Symmetrizer, etc.) use their own third-party SDKs (Google AdMob, Google Analytics 4) that are specific to those apps and not part of this site; their respective policies are documented on each app's own page.

06.Data Retention

We retain no user data on our servers, because no server of ours collects user data. Cloudflare Pages request logs and Web Analytics data are retained according to Cloudflare's own retention policy (typically 6 months for Web Analytics, shorter for raw request logs). 07.Your Rights

Under the GDPR (EU) and KVKK (Turkey) you can exercise rights over your personal data. Because we hold no user data on our side, there is no personal data of yours that we could delete, correct, or grant access to — but if you have any question or concern, you can contact me directly at kaan@kaansali.dev. Infrastructure data held by Cloudflare is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy procedures. You always retain the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (the KVKK Authority in Turkey, your local DPA in the EU).
